Brief Description of WordSmart Phonics

WordSmart’s Phonics is a complete set of interactive programs full of fun activities and game designed to teach early learners. The pronunciation guide makes sense of phonemes and is easy to use.

Disc 1: Consonant Sounds

Proper pronunciations are demonstrated. Sounds are presented with their corresponding letters so they can see and hear the sounds.

Disc 2: Consonant Blends

Blends are presented in groups and words are presented in phonemes (sounds conveying a distinct meaning). Includes auditory and visual recognition of consonant blends.

Disc 3: Vowel Sounds

Easy stories that teach all the vowel sounds. Includes pronunciation presentation, vowel auditory discrimination and various spellings of the vowel sound.

Disc 4: Long Vowels

Intermediate stories that teach long vowels and diphthongs. Presented by a story teller who reads the printed text aloud.

Disc 5: Short Vowels

Intermediate stories that teach short vowels and schwas. Presented by a story teller who reads the printed text aloud.
